The Journey  Home......

Short distances.

You need  a ‘ pet carrier ‘ , plastic bags for waste,  kitchen roll,  flask of water and  bowl , and 2 blankets or towels, on top of newspaper to line the ‘ pet carrier ‘. The puppy might sleep all the way but, be prepared.

Long  Distances. Ie. More than 2 hours travel.

Same as preparation for  Short distance, you need to be prepared!

You need to stop to check the puppy and clean the ‘ pet carrier ‘ , if necessary,  and reassure the puppy by playing with him in the vehicle. Do not allow the puppy to escape from the vehicle. Try not to feed the puppy but, offer water .

Do not let a stranger hold your puppy.

Once home....

Let the puppy sniff around where it is expected to sleep.

Play with your puppy but, avoid excessive excitement.

Keep water available.

Feed the puppy with the food supplied by AuldToby. The puppy will be used to this brand.

Cover the crate/puppy carrier with a blanket .

Use the blanket supplied by AuldToby as part of the puppys bedding. This blanket has the smell of the other puppies in the litter.

The Next Day.....

You should allow for possible upset for a few nights. Try a warmed only hot water bottle, as they were used to snuggling with their brothers and sisters. Try leaving the radio on, near but not in the crate, or a ticking clock. A teddy bear or other soft toy in the crate with the puppy.
