Dixie finds her forever home !

After 3 litters and a total of 16 puppies, all gone now to forever homes, Dixie, Auldtoby Caraway,  was ready for her own forever home. Dixie was rehomed on 18th September 2023.

At 5 years old, born and bred by us, Dixie is a mature adult dog. Experienced with other dogs, our grand children at 18 months and 4 years of age. Dixie Auldtoby CarawayDixie Auldtoby Caraway  Healthy with no illness. vaccinated, and spayed, she was ready to be someones companion, happy to sit and be with you, all day long.

What Dixie needed  is a normal life as a pet and companion. Ideally with no other pet to share you with.

It was as though Dixie picked her new owner. We did try to rehome Dixie 3 times but Dixie, was not happy with the first 2 . Then the third  prospective new owner visited and she was more acceptable to Dixie.  They met, just once, briefly for an hour in our house. Yet Dixie immediately obeyed and sat for her new companion, !. Remarkably Dixie  decided to sit beside Sylvia,

Many weeks later the time came  when we prepared to deliver Dixie to her new home, on a trial visit. We were astonished at Dixie's eagerness to reach the car, what could she know about this particular trip?  For the first time, Dixie who usually did not like car travel and  had to be lifted into the car, raced to the car-boot and bounded into the crate. Did she know, how could she know, or was Dixie just ready to leave home?

We travelled for more than hour to her prospective new home. When we arrived Dixie entered the house and then the kitchen, settling on the cosy dog donut bed beside Sylvia's chair. A casual observer would believe, Dixie already lived there!  She does now!

. Both Dixie and her new owner are well and happy together. Dixie has been renamed Darcy.
